I suppose it means I ought to be playing them more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" reversed start=\"5\"><li>Asia Engulfed &#8211; I like the way it handles the Pacific theater, and the turn sequence.<\/li><li>Manoeuvre &#8211; A bit abstract, but I like how each nation has different capabilities and how you can try to lay traps for your opponent.<\/li><li>Wilderness War &#8211; A happy p500 choice, I really like how the French and the British have different problems<\/li><li>Command and Colors Ancients &#8211; Another happy p500 choice, The command card system fits the era so well.<\/li><li>Friedrich\/Maria &#8211; A very elegant design that so nicely captures the war of position for the era.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Honorable Mentions:<br>Napoleons Triumph &#8211; I like how it uses a deterministic combat system and fog of war to create a compelling game. It was close to my top 5.<br>Warriors of God &#8211; The only thing more frustrating than your young leader dying unexpectedly is the old geezer hanging on in prison.<br>Hold the Line &#8211; I like it almost as much Command and Colors &#8211; but whew the scenarios can be unbalanced.<br>Twilight Struggle &#8211; I like to tease grognards that the era wasn&#8217;t called the Cold War for nothing.
